So you want to webcam and don't know where to start....
Well first you need a computer or a smart phone with a working camera! I know that seems like common sense but it's so important to address. Next is a working connection. Something solid. If you don't have your own wifi, scratch webcamming off of your list of things to do. Internet connection is everything! Good lighting is a must! Clients need to be able to see your pussy, ass or dick very clearly. No dark areas. We call having a clear shot of your genitals, a movie shot!
I personally have a hard time being consistent with webcamming because the lighting in my apartment sucks ass. I don't know what it is about the apartments I chose but my history with lighting has been terrible. I've had to work extremely hard to get that right shot.
Next you need a great personality. I know I've talked about this in a previous blog but allow me to mention it again. Please do NOT sign up for web-camming if you have a dry personality and are not open-minded. Web-camming is about being fun and bubbly but also about relinquishing control. You are there to please them. You can have some fun too, but don't take it too seriously. Have fun.
Now on to the technical side of it. You need a valid state drivers license or identification. A working social security number and you must be able to complete your W-9 form. Back when I signed up, I had to print the document, complete it, take a picture of it and download it into their system. Now they have it where you can complete it right from your computer or smart phone and submit online. Once you begin completing it, make sure you check off sole proprietor. That means you are an independent contractor and you are responsible for paying your own taxes if you make a certain amount of money. For example, you will be required to pay taxes if your net income is $400 or more. I read annually, years ago and just today, but I can still be wrong. Visit the IRS website to learn more about self employment taxes and when you will need to pay with the amount of money you've made.
You also need a valid address. This is so they can mail a check to you. If you have a bank account that's even better. You will be able to link your bank account to your webcam modeling account so that you can have direct deposit. All you need is your routing and account numbers. A side note, websites will require you to take a picture of you holding your drivers license or state identification. This is so that they can verify that it's you. Once you've submitted all of those things, just sit back and wait for the approval of your account. It's all very simple. The signing up process is easy and it usually takes 28 hours or less.
